Lilly Faye's Movie Review: Le Week-End, starring Jim Broadbent, Lindsay Duncan, and Jeff Goldblum

Dear Readers,

Dizzie, Alfie, and I recently watched Le Week-End, starring Jim Broadbent as Nick, Lindsay Duncan as Meg, and Jeff Goldblum as Nick's friend Morgan.

Nick and Meg are an English couple celebrating their thirtieth wedding anniversary in Paris, France, where they spent their honeymoon. The trip to Paris is an attempt to reinvigorate their marriage. The question is, how much trouble is their marriage in, and can it be saved?

Alfie Cat: And, do they have enough money for dinner?

Lilly Faye: Morgan, Nick's old American friend, helps put it all in perspective for them. Morgan's much younger wife and teenage son also provide Nick and Meg with food for thought.

Le Week-End was filmed on location in Paris, and watching the movie is like taking a quick trip to Paris yourself.

Dizzie: Boss, don't forget to mention Le Week-End has a lovely soundtrack. Debussy: Clair de Lune, Dylan's Like a Rolling Stone, and Pink Moon by Nick Drake!

(Diz sings) "Pink, pink, moon..." I can't get that song out of my head!

Dizzie: Boss, do you think I'm a tenor or a baritone?

Lilly Faye: You're a tenor, Diz.

Alfie Cat: I'm an alto, if anyone would care enough to ask.

Lilly Faye: Le Week-End is a lovely film, perfect for a hot summer night.

This trailer will give you a good feel for the movie:
